"James was recommended to us by a band member and was engaged to provide live sound engineering for these events. During the trip, not only did James do an excellent job of mixing monitor and FOH mixes, but he was instrumental in the planning and implementation of all of our sound requirements.
James planned out the design for the different venues that we performed in. He generated the stage plots, track sheets and lighting queues. He also created multi-track recordings of the performances using AVID Pro Tools. James was able to adapt quickly to using unfamiliar equipment.
On August 16th 2012, we performed at Graceland for Elvis’ 35th anniversary of his death. James was able to take charge of getting the sound and recording system setup and integrated into the venue’s system in under 30 min. He had the FOH mix dialed in so good that Danny McCorkle from Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. came up on the stage during the performance, took the microphone and told everyone in the audience, “This is what an Elvis band should sound like!”. He invited us back to perform at Graceland the following evening, which we accepted.
James was punctual, flexible, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and has a great set of “ears”. I hated to see the trip end and James to return to Nashville. We look forward to working with him in the future. We will recommend him to our colleagues and know that he will accomplish many wonderful things during his career."
Tim Woodland, President of Orange Room Records
"James has always been very focused on his work, communicates in a clear, straightforward, yet friendly manner with coworkers, and is a very reliable individual. He is a very persistent individual and sets high standards for himself. In my mind, one of the marks of an exceptional individual isn’t his ability to do exceptional work, but to consistently perform at a high level. James is one of those individuals. In addition, James always maintains a calm attitude, even in stressful situations. I have no doubt his many positive qualities will serve him well in his career."
-John Inglese, Audio instructor at The Art Institute of Tennessee-Nashville
"I had the opportunity to have James as a student in the Audio Production program at the Art Institute of Tennessee-Nashville where I served as Department Chair for 4 years. During that time I witnessed his growth and development in regards to audio engineering and production. During James’ enrollment in the Bachelor’s Degree program, he participated in many additional work experience opportunities and excelled at these. In regards to audio production, James has been involved in many student and professional projects and has demonstrated his ability to work with challenging tasks and deliver creative solutions. He has demonstrated his ability to manage his time, work in-group situations under strict deadlines, learn and utilize complicated audio production equipment and software and provide excellent client skills. James clearly recognizes the importance of a strong work ethic, persistence and integrity."
